Hello everyone!!! I wanted to start off by wishing everyone a very Happy and Healthy New Year. Envious Auto Detail has now been in Business for almost 3 years now. I cannot be more grateful to my valued clients, who have trusted me and given me the opportunity to work on their cars. Every day is a blessing!! As we approach this anniversary I always reflect on cars I have worked on , the great people I have met, and the awesome opportunity to travel around the country detailing cars!! I would be nothing without my customers. So thank you!!! I look forward in continuing the growth of this company and to keep on detailing!! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
It gives me great pleasure to post this next blog entry. I was fortunate enough to work on a beautiful Porsche GT3 RS!! This truly is an awesome car. The GT3 RS is considered a RACE READY track deity street legal race car. With a 3.8 liter naturally aspirated flat 6 , with VVT (variocam-valve-timing) in both the intake and exhaust, produces a whopping 450 horsepower and 317 pound feet of torque!! This equates to a 0-60 mph in 4 seconds flat and a quarter mile time 12 seconds at 118 mph. The GT3 RS also has a top speed of 193mph. This truly is a driver enthusiasts car that is as close to a street legal race car as you can get. I had the good fortune of working on this AWESOME GT3 RS, fairly new car so it did not need a lot of intensive paint correction. Once we pulled it out in the sun you could see it had a slight level of micro-scratching and marring swipes. This was from improper washing methods from the car wash, as their was curved swipe scratches along the doors and back of car. Below is a overview of what was done to get this beautiful vehicle up to par. Before I can just jump in and start correcting the paint. It must first be properly prepped. Prepping is the key to successful detailing. So I gave the car a thorough bath, removing surface dirt and then gave it a good DEEP CLEANING to make sure the paint is silky smooth. ![]() After inspecting it with my sun gun light I clearly saw that it has some more scratches on the roof. If you look closely just below my light you can see the very light scratches on the surface of the paint. On a beautiful car like this in my eyes its unacceptable. Every effort must be made to remove scratches like this from the surface to ensure that we are giving the paint the clearest most reflective surface possible. ![]() After working the area with my trusty polisher I was able to caress the area smooth and remove the pesky scratches, and as always before I move on to a new panel , I always look it over with my sun gun light. As you can clearly see the scratches were removed. As I worked along to the back of the car I saw that there were more evident scratches on the quarter panels, which is very common on Porsche's in this area. The quarter flares out pretty dramatically over the rear tires, especially on a model like the GT3RS. One must be careful when polishing this area as if you are careless and get to close to where the panel flares out, you can easily BURN through the clear coat with the edge of your pad. So a lot of detailers overlook this area for fear of burning it. In looking at the photos above from the above left to right you can clearly see that the lower half of scratches are removed. In areas like this i like to use my mini 75E polisher, it works great in some of the tighter areas like this. I can generate the same level of heat as i would my BIGFOOT but without the risk of doing any damage. more pics of the 75E MINI in action...... ![]() This machine is truly worth its weight in gold. It always amazes me as to how much this little polisher can achieve. The only thing to remember is to tape off certain sensitive areas like plastic handles, and rubber gaskets. This little polisher can be a very competent tool if the proper precautions are used to safeguard these areas. After a good 4 hours of polishing this gorgeous car we are now on the downhill phase of the detail. We sealed this GT3RS with our 6 month sealant AMMO SKIN and AMMO CREME. My customers love this product and I put it on all my exotic cars, and for my customers that want the absolute best. It gives the paint a strong layer of protection, dust build up is also minimal, and the water repellency is awesome!! Great reflective qualities too when we finish with the AMMO CREME. This truly is a great product for any detailer to have in his arsenal. There is a system in applying this properly to get the best benefit out of the product though, but after applying on about more than 50 cars I have fine tuned the process quite well. Below are some more pics of applying the sealant .... The AMMO CREME really gives the paint a vibrant POP to the finish. And when for instance a car is going to a be in a show to be displayed I also make sure I bring my AMMO CREME to give the car a great prep wax before the show. AMMO, NEVER LEAVE HOME WITHOUT IT!!! LOL Unfortunately when I finished this car it started to get really cloudy and started to drizzle outside. The lower left photo was the only pic I got to take of it outside. So I was unable to take really good sun pics. So I double checked each panel with my sun gun in the garage to make sure I removed all the wax, as we applied a generous amount of product to this beautiful car. So I took the best pics I could inside. So after about 6 hours we took this really nice GT3RS to the next level. And we really didn't have to get too intensive with the paint. Just needed a light polish and protected it with a strong sealant. All in a days work ;)
