It gives me great pleasure to introduce our customer and a great friend of mine for the Month of March, Julio Picchio. He has been very influential in my career, and has always been there to help me on my path, as a detailer and a business owner. Julio has been in the automotive industry for 42 years. For many years he has been a active member in the Porsche Club of America. And has been past Concourse Chairman for PCA Zone 8 that spans from San Diego to central California, Las Vegas and to Phoenix.
What makes Julio such a unique client for me is that he is both a car and detailing enthusiast. He is very well up to speed on all the latest detailing products and procedures. I have had the good fortune of working on some amazing cars that he has owned that have gone on to place very well in some very special car shows. Julio is Porsche nut !! His passion for Porsches started when he was in High School and saw his first 1963 Porsche owned by his gym teacher. This was enough to fuel his passion for the brand that was finally fulfilled when he purchased his first Porsche at the ripe old age of 21 years old, it was a 1969 911s coupe. In total he has owned 11 "911's" and 14 "356's", and 2 "914 6's".
His latest Porsche which has become a true labor of love for Julio as he has spent 15 years restoring it (pictured below) is a 1959 356a Coupe.

This car truly is a masterpiece, all original parts, the paint is flawless, and the interior and leather is in mint condition. What I really admire about Julios philosophy on Porsches is that he does drive them, he feels these awesome cars can be properly protected in a detail capacity so they can be used for what they were engineered to do ; DRIVE THEM!!! This particular model will be entered into the Annual Cars on the Avenue Concourse held during car week on August 2015, in Monterey.

Another car that I was fortunate to work on was his 1964 Giulia Sprint Speciale. We undertook a full Concourse detail on this car that involved an intense level of paint correction, a fine polish and wax. We thoroughly went through the interior and engine as well. There was upwards of 150 hrs spent on pampering this great vehicle prior to being entered into the 2010 Concorso Italiano 100th Anniversary Car Show in Monterey, on the grounds of the Laguna Seca Golf Ranch. I am proud to say the car placed "Best in Show' and "Best in Class".
It has been an honor to work on such amazing cars!! Its clients like this that make my job so rewarding. One of the benefits of being a professional detailer is meeting awesome people and getting to work on such cool cars. Seeing the results and some of the accolades these cars earn , and knowing that I was a part of the process, makes it that much sweeter. Thanks again Julio!!!
